Today during my run, something shifted.

After about 4 km I realised I wasn’t really there.
My head was full of thoughts — but none of them felt like mine.
I used to run to think, to find answers.
Today, I was somewhere else. Not here. Not present.

And then I noticed it.
And slowly came back to myself.

I started seeing things again.

A woman standing at a bus stop smiled at me.
Such a simple moment — but it felt like everything.
Just kindness. Just presence. Nothing else mattered.

And it made me think about photography.

When I photograph people, they often zoom into their faces,
looking closely at how they look.
They search for imperfections.
But they don’t look at what they felt in that moment.
They don’t try to hold onto that feeling.

And maybe that’s what we’re losing.
We are so focused on how we appear,
that we forget how we feel.
